Plaquenil 200 mg

Take this medication by mouth, usually with food to prevent stomach upset, exactly as directed by your doctor. The dosage and length of treatment are based on your medical condition and response to treatment. In children, the dosage is also based on weight.

To prevent malaria, take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually once a week on the same day each week. Mark a calendar to help you remember. This drug is usually started 1 to 2 weeks before entering the malarious area. Continue to take it weekly while in the area and for 4 to 8 weeks after leaving the area, or as directed by your doctor. To treat malaria, follow your doctor's instructions.

In Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease. In this disease, the immune system of the body mistakenly attacks healthy tissue. It can affect the skin, joints, kidneys, brain, and other organs. HCQS 200 Tablet prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. It can be used to treat a great many different inflammatory and allergic conditions. It lowers your immune system’s response to these conditions thereby reducing symptoms such as swelling, pain, itching, and other allergic-type reactions.
You should always take it as it has been prescribed for you. Do not stop taking it without your doctor’s advice. This can cause unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Because this medicine weakens your immune system, you should avoid being near people who are ill or have infections.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. PLAQUENIL 200 Tablet is to be taken with food.

PLAQUENIL 200 Tablet is a Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatoid Drug (DMARD). It works by suppressing the overactivity of the immune system that causes inflammation (swelling) and pain in the joints. This slows the progression of the underlying disease.
